2007-11-21 13:28:22

The world's gambling capital Macau is to host its first ever major poker event tomorrow (November 22nd).

A leg of the Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) will land in the Chinese gaming hotspot and will last until November 27th.

The six-day collection of tournaments will feature a three-day main event with a $2,500 buy-in, as well as a two-day high roller game with a $15,000 buy-in.

Qualification for the event, entitled APPT Macau, finished on November 11th.

The Grand Waldo Hotel & Casino will be the host, following in the footsteps of venues in Manila and Seoul, which have all welcomed APPT legs over the past few months.

It is the first season of the APPT, which began in August. Bret Parise won the first event in Manila and Ziv Bachar won the follow-up in Seoul.

Sydney will host the final tour stage in December.

Top prizes in the APPT so far have been above $130,000.
