Doyle Brunson Classic won by Katchalov

Eugene Katchalov scored by far the biggest win of his career on Tuesday as he walked away with the title at the 2007 World Poker Tour Doyle Brunson Classic.

Defeating 663 other players, Katchalov won a huge first prize of $2,482,605, a pot more than 20 times greater than his previous best - a $118,785 win at June's third Bellagio Cup.

Katchalov had the big stack going into the final table, facing off against "Devilfish" Dave Ulliott, Ryan Daut, Ken Rosen, Ted Kearly and Jordan Rich, according to Card Player.

Daut was first to go, followed by Rich, Rosen and then Ulliott - who also won one of the biggest pots of his career, earning $674,500 for third-place.

Kearly had a significantly shorter stack that Katchalov going into the heads-up and after just 53 hands of final table play - a new record - he was confirmed as the runner-up, netting $1,252,640.
