A video teaching people how to play Texas Hold 'Em poker was the "number one spotlight video" yesterday on YouTube, it has been reported.
Dan Michalski discussed the news on Pokerati, saying that the video's popularity may show him up as being wrong when he said previously that poker is in decline.
"With so much important stuff going on in the world - the assassination of Benazir Bhutto, Ron Paul's squelching by Fox News, the New England Patriots yadda yadda - what's the number one spotlight video? How to play Texas Hold'em."
The article made reference to Lycos, which recently found that "poker" is the most commonly searched for term by its users, possibly indicative of a boom period for the game.
Michalski has been involved in poker journalism for numerous years having written for the World Series of Poker, as well as previously editing magazine All In.
