Poker players are benefiting from the increased levels of competition between casinos, it has been argued.
An article from Card Player says that poker players are now growing in importance as far as casinos are concerned and this can be seen increased number of deep stack events taking place for reasonable buy-ins across the US.
Kathy Raymond, who manages the poker room at the Venetian in Las Vegas, said: "For years, many tournaments have been short-stacked with accelerated blind structures.
"I believe that casinos are spreading more and more deep-stack tournaments to try to remain competitive and I do not see this trend changing anytime in the near future."
The Venetian helped to pioneer the deep-stack events, according to Card Player, with the Deep-Stack Extravaganza event last year.
More of the events will be held during 2008 covering a wide variety of poker games, from no-limit hold'em to pot-limit Omaha and Omaha 8.
