The main event of this year's Aussie Millions has broken its previous record for the number of participants.
While 747 players entered last year, a further 33 will compete this week, which raises the winner's prize to A$1.65 million ($1.45 million), according to Card Player.
The winner of the 2007 tournament, Gus Hansen, won A$1.5 million in comparison.
Another increase in the size and value of this tournament shows how much the Aussie Millions has grown in the past few years. The first event in 2003 had a winner's prize of just A$394,870.
The tournament has been going on since Wednesday and will finish on Sunday. After day two Matthew Lagarde was the chip leader, with the likes of Andrew Black, Kevin Saul, Peter Feldman and Mike Matusow hot on his heals.
A A$5,000 heads-up tournament is running concurrently with the main event with the winner set to receive A$100,000.
