Geoff Jenkins' Celebrity Poker Tournament has raised an estimated $60,000 for local children in the Scottsdale area of Arizona, it has been reported.
Numerous top athletes were in attendance to play with the Philadelphia Phillies star, including Brian Roberts, Paul Konerko, Javon Walker and Randy Flores, according to MLB.com.
The game, which was for the Boys and Girls Clubs, was played at the Jackrabbit Lounge.
Jenkins said: "As athletes we have a chance to do some good.
"Why not do it with something everyone enjoys doing anyway? It was easy rounding up guys to participate in this."
Walker showed more than anyone how willing people were to go out of their way for the good cause, by immediately catching a flight back from the UK when he heard about the event.
Jenkins played for the Milwaukee Brewers from 1998 until last year and is second in the team's all-time list for home runs.
