McDonald speaks on EPT win

2008-02-05 11:55:33

Malcolm McDonald has spoken out to discuss his big win at the recent European Poker Tour (EPT) German Open in Dortmund.

The youngest winner in EPT history said luck seemed to be on his side and implied he did not have too many problems on his way to victory, according to the Canadian Press.

"I start all tournaments thinking I could win or else I wouldn't play," he explained.

"This event was great, when I had big hands the others seemed to just give me their chips."

The Canadian took home $1.4 million, a sum 70 times more than his previous best of $20,000 for coming fourth in Prague.

McDonald said he wants to invest his winnings, which he can add to the six-figure sum already accumulated from a successful online career.

He succeeds Andreas Hoivold as the Dortmund champion and will take his place at the EPT Grand Final in Monte Carlo.
