2008-02-14 12:16:27

GSN, which recently signed a deal to broadcast World Poker Tour (WPT) events, has announced its broadcasting schedule for the next TV season.

Starting on March 24th, 23 two-hour WPT episodes will be shown every Monday night at 21:00 ET/PT.

Coverage will be from series six and will start with the Mirage Poker Showdown, an event won by Florida poker player Jonathan Little.

Viewers will be treated to some of the biggest names in card playing right from the off, as the Mirage tournament featured both Ammon Fiippi and five-time World Series of Poker bracelet holder Phil Ivey on the final table.

Other top players to look forward to seeing at the height of their game in later episodes are Mike Matusow, David Pham, Dan Harrington, Scott Clements and Bill Edler.

WPT spokesman Steve Lipscomb said: "We couldn't be more thrilled to have GSN as our partner and the new home of WPT.

"GSN and WPT are dedicated to collectively broadening the poker experience for fans and viewers and cannot wait to kick off our best season yet."
