Changes have been made to the schedule for this year's World Series of Poker (WSOP), it has been reported.
The $50,000 buy-in HORSE world championship has been moved from Sunday June 22nd to Wednesday June 25th, following a swap with the $2,500 buy-in deuce-to-seven triple-draw lowball tournament, according to Card Player.
ESPN is responsible for the switch, which will allow the sports broadcaster to give greater coverage to the richest buy-in event of the series.
The WSOP begins on Friday May 30th at Harrah's Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. It will continue until July 16th, with 55 winners' bracelets up for grabs.
July 3rd will signal the start of the main event - the $10,000 buy-in no-limit hold'em world championship. Jerry Yang won last year, defeating more than 6,000 participants to take home $8.25 million in prize money.
ESPN has televised the WSOP in all but three years since 1988.
