An engineering student came out on top following the world's largest multi-table poker tournament ever held on automated poker tables.
The PokerPro room at the Casino de Montreal played host to the event, which saw Mohamed Nadim walk away with the CA$20,000.
Chris Halligan, chief executive officer (CEO) of PokerTek, the company that manufactures the PokerPro tables, said that the group had "always envisioned" running a tournament as big as this.
"We are pleased with the success of this tournament and proud of our partnership with Casino de Montreal," he remarked.
The response to the tournament shows how Quebecois players have taken to automated poker, the CEO added.
In addition to hosting poker events, Montreal's main casino provides visitors with more than 3,200 slot machines, over 115 gaming tables and a keno lounge. There is also a high limits gaming area for those looking to spend big money.
