WPT boss praises first woman winner

Steve Lipscomb, the World Poker Tour's (WPT) founder and chief executive, says he is "thrilled" that Van Nguyen has become the first female champion in the company's history.
Nguyen came first at this week's Celebrity Invitational tournament - beating 444 other players to the main prize.
Even her more famous husband Men, who has won numerous World Series of Poker bracelets and finished first in Card Player's player of the year rankings on more than one occasion, has never won a WPT event.
Lipscomb said: "It was only a matter of time before a female took down a major WPT tournament and what better way to mark this historic event than Van Nguyen battling for the title while her husband - a well-respected pro - cheered her on from the audience."
Furthermore, Van's win has shown yet again that some of the best players in world poker are women, Lipscomb added.
