Celebrity poker event for IFC contestants

The International Fighting Championship (IFC) is aiming to raise its profile in the American combat sports arena by hosting a celebrity poker event.
Las Vegas' Orleans Hotel and Casino will be the venue for the tournament on May 25th, which will see a number of well-known faces take to the table.
Actor Vin Diesel, mixed martial arts star Kenny Florian and rapper Ice Cube are among the players that will take to the table. Boxing referee Richard Steele - who took charge of the infamous Julio Cesar Chavez - Meldrick Taylor fight in 1993 - will join them at the felt.
Those competing in the IFC tournament will be battling for a $10,000 seat at the World Series of Poker's main event.
Organiser Gary England told Poker Listings: "My phone has been ringing off the hook with people interested in playing in the tournament since it was announced."
