Foxwoods attracting big crowds

2008-04-01 15:53:46

The Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut has needed to use every bit of its vast gaming space this week as thousands of people have poured in to take part in the Foxwoods Poker Classic.

A series of poker events, which culminates in World Poker Tour competition later this week, have proven widely popular so far with 1,130 people turning up for day one, Card Player reports.

Another 938 people played at Wednesday's $600 no-limit tournament, while close to 1,500 have competed in a further four match-ups.

The Foxwoods Classic has been praised by Justin Rollo, who called his tournament on Friday "a pretty fun experience" in his blog on Card Player.

"I was with a few of the same guys for six hours and we all had fun together," he remarked.

Rollo claims to now be in the mood for Las Vegas after his time at the casino.
