Poker prodigy Shannon Shorr has confirmed he will be taking part in this week's Five-Star World Poker Classic at the Bellagio in Las Vegas.
Furthermore, Shorr wrote in his Card Player blog that he is "very excited" about the opportunity.
"I usually despise being around all the ego and the degeneracy that is live poker, but I can't help but get really excited about a series like this," he said.
The main reason for Shorr's eagerness is that he has not played live poker since the end of February, when he took part in the LA Poker Classic.
Like the LA series, the Five-Star event will conclude with a World Poker Tour (WPT) competition - the final one of the year.
Last year's WPT championship was won by Kirk Morrison, who took home $3,970,415 - one of the biggest payouts in the history of poker tournaments.
