James Scullion will use some of his winnings from Ireland's National Student Poker Championship 2008 to play more poker tournaments.
The computer science undergraduate from Queen's University, Belfast discussed what he plans to with his 4,000 ($6,334) winnings
"I'll put some of it away, but probably use some to play similar sized buy-in events," he remarked.
"I've never played in anything like this before or won anything like this before so it's great."
The Pokerireland.ie tournament, sponsored by Devilfish Poker, took place on Saturday April 5th at Dublin's Regency Airport Hotel. The buy-in was 65, with an additional registration fee of 7.
An 18,070 prize fund was split between 17 players, with runner-up David Downey receiving 3,330.
The student tournament was one of a number of big events to have taken place in Ireland over the past month, with March's Irish Poker Open attracting hundreds of competitors, including the likes Doyle and Todd Brunson.
