The World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) may be often overlooked in favor of the more lucrative World Poker Tour (WPT), but it has not stopped its Caesars Palace championship event from attracting a host of top notch players.
Chris Ferguson, Erik Seidel, Chau Giang and Bill Edler were part of the 334-person line-up on day one, while close to a dozen other highly decorated stars were knocked out of the competition.
These include Erick Lindgren, Michael Mizrachi, Ted Lawson, Gavin Smith, Men Nguyen, Bertrand Grospellier, Jonathan Little and Shannon Shorr, none of whom will get a share of the $1.67 million prize fund on offer.
Day two of the event will take place later today, with the final table occurring on Thursday.
Cory Carroll won last year's title and has since gone on to even bigger things, such as coming fourth at last week's WPT Championship and finishing second at the 2007 Mirage Poker Showdown.
