Hansen: Chiu may had a read on me

Gus Hansen has said that it is possible David Chiu figured him out during their epic heads-up at the World Poker Tour (WPT) Championship last month.

Hansen entered the heads-up with what looked to be an unassailable chip lead after eliminating every other person at the final table single-handedly.

However, Chiu staged an incredible fight back to topple the most successful player in WPT history.

Explaining his problems against Chiu, Hansen commented: "Against David I moved in with jacks and raised and re-raised with aces, kings when apparently he had nothing, but when I moved in with deuces he decided to call with fives.

"I don't know, maybe he had a read on me?"

Hansen claimed the end of the tournament had similarities with his loss to Phil Ivey at the National Heads-Up Poker Championship earlier in the season.

Doyle Brunson claimed in his blog after the tournament that he had bet Chiu would be victorious prior to the final table due to playing with him on numerous occasions and rating him as a top competitor.
