Top online card player Dani Stern is to take part in his first World Series of Poker (WSOP) this year.
The internet cash game star, known as Ansky451, told readers of his Card Player blog that he will be in Las Vegas for the whole two-month period and hopes to compete in about seven events during that time period.
Stern revealed that not only will it be his first WSOP, but also his first time playing poker of any kind in Las Vegas, which he claims has earned him a lot of stick in the past.
Tournaments Stern plans to enter include the $10,000 heads-up tournament and the $10,000 main event, which account for a big part of the $50,000 he believes he will probably end up spending on buy-ins.
"If I bust out early in some of the events, I may add to the list, but these are the ones I definitely want to play," Stern added.
Daniel Negreanu said in his Full Contact Poker blog that he too will be at the WSOP and that he is going to practice in Costa Rica first.
