APT attendance 'still not guaranteed for Winston'

2008-05-23 16:29:37

After several weeks of debate, poker star Roy Winston is still yet to decide whether he will play the upcoming Asian Poker Tour (APT) tournament or not.

In his latest Card Player blog post, the Californian said he would probably have to sit out events one and two of the World Series of Poker in order to go to the APT in Manila - and implied he was reluctant to do so.

"On the upside it is bound to be a good event with a soft field and Matt Savage running things," he added.

Winston was invited to the APT after his win at the World Poker Tour Borgata Poker Open was shown on television a few weeks ago.

He claimed the presence of his friend Mr Savage makes the competition in the Philippines particularly attractive and he hopes to play him at poker and golf should he decide to go.
