Hansen wins first WPT title

The first tournament of World Poker Tour (WPT) season seven has been won by Casper Hansen.
In the last major event before the World Series of Poker (WSOP) begins this week, the Dane beat Stefan Mattsson in the heads-up when his ace-two came good against Mattsson's ace-nine.
The victory is by far the biggest of the professional's career and gives him not only a prize of $655,720, but a seat at the WPT Championship in 2009.
Thiago Nishijima finished third, followed by Andres Vidal, Guy Sitbon and Martin Lundenius.
Perhaps due to its close-proximity to the WSOP, most of the best players in the world stayed away from the tournament, which appears to be the reason why it will be the only event on the tour that will not be televised.
Hansen's previous best result came at the European Poker Tour Dublin event, where he finished in ninth and earned less than $43,000.
