Winston chooses WSOP over APT

2008-05-28 13:20:46

Roy Winston has finally made up his mind as to whether he will play event one of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) or head to Manila for the Asian Poker Tour (APT).

The World Poker Tour titlist was severely tempted to take the trip to the Philippines when offered a few weeks ago and had been contemplating the decision ever since.

However, in his latest Card Player blog post he claimed he is sticking to Las Vegas, suggesting that the WSOP is his main focus for the summer.

"There is an excitement in the air and everyone seems to be talking about which events they will play and what the changes will be this year," he commented.

"I feel like a little kid the night before Christmas."

Most of the best players in the world will be taking part in event one of the WSOP - the $10,000 pot-limit hold'em championship - including the likes of Shannon Shorr.
