Nenad Medic thoroughly deserved his victory in event one of the World Series of Poker (WSOP).
At least this is the opinion of Shannon Shorr, who suggested in his blog that the Canadian is one of the hardest competitors around.
"Nenad's a ridiculously tough player that I always hate to see at my table," the Alabaman said.
"He deserves every bit of his success and is a really easy guy to root for."
Medic took down the $10,000 World Championship Pot-Limit Hold'em event to win the first bracelet of his career.
He will have to wait a little longer if he is to earn a second one this year, however.
The Serbian born professional came within a whisker of making day two of event four before being eliminated by David Williams.
Shorr, as well as the majority of the world's greatest players, was among those Medic outlasted on the way to his WSOP triumph.
