Six more WSOP bracelets won over the weekend

2008-06-09 16:21:59

Another six bracelets have been handed out at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) over the last three days.

Matt Keikoan and Anthony Rivera were the big winners on Friday night, taking down events seven and eight respectively against top opposition.

Keikoan triumphed in a no-limit hold'em tournament ahead of a final table featuring Shannon Shorr, JC Tran and Alex Bjorin.

Meanwhile Rivera survived James Mackey, Jeff Madsen, Eli Elezra, Tom Dwan and Sam Farha on the last day of the World Championship Mixed Event.

On Saturday Rep Porter took down the no limit hold'em/six-handed event nine, while Farzad Rouhani seized his long-awaited bracelet in event ten - the $2,500 Omaha/seven-card stud hi-low-eight or better competition.

Sunday's victors were Jimmy Shultz and Phil Tom, who benefited from relatively weak final tables to take their first bracelets.

Another two WSOP titles will be handed out at the Rio All-Suite Resort Casino in Las Vegas tonight.
