Mizrachi goes for sibling double

2008-07-01 15:27:37

Michael Mizrachi is looking to cement an unprecedented family double at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) tonight.

The Floridian is going for glory in the final table of the $10,000 World Championship Pot Limit Omaha tournament - an event won by his brother Robert in 2007.

He is in a good position to pull off the feat as well, lying in second place overall, just a few chips behind the leader.

Mizrachi has never won a WSOP bracelet before but has established his credentials with two World Poker Tour victories.

Should he win, the Mizrachis will follow in the footsteps of Howard Lederer and Annie Duke, a pair of siblings who have both won WSOP bracelets.

Marty Smyth is the most high profile player standing in Mizrachi's way. The 2007 Irish Open winner follows him in the chip count closely in third.

The other competitors are Brandon Moran, Billy Argyros, Peter Jetten, Tom Hanlon, Richard Harroch and Greg Hurst.
