Shannon Shorr has followed up a decent World Series of Poker (WSOP) with victory in a Bellagio Cup preliminary tournament.
The 23-year-old from Tuscaloosa, Alabama discussed his victory in the $3,000 buy-in tournament in his blog and suggested it was one of the best moments of his young playing career.
He wrote: "The feeling I had after winning was probably the second most magical feeling I've had in my poker career behind my 2006 Bellagio Cup main event win."
Shorr claims to have won in the region of $248,000 for finishing first, which puts his earnings for the last five weeks in excess of $500,000.
He will likely be glad he entered the Bellagio Cup tournament, having considered not playing any more live competitions at all for the rest of the summer as he gears up to return to college.
Shorr won two competitions at the Bellagio Cup in 2006, helping him to finish fourth in Card Player's player of the year rankings.
