World Poker Tour starts again tonight

The World Poker Tour (WPT) gets up and running again tonight with the main event of the Bellagio Cup IV.

Only one other WPT event, the Spanish Championship, has been held so far during season seven and that was poorly attended due to its clash with the start of the World Series of Poker (WSOP).

The organisers will be expecting the Bellagio Cup to do much better, as the WSOP has finished with the exception of the main event - and most of the top poker professionals have already been eliminated from that tournament.

Shannon Shorr has already confirmed that he will be taking part in his blog.

The Alabaman won the competition in 2006, the year before it was made into a WPT event.

He has already taken down one of the preliminary tournaments and finished third in another and looks in good form heading into the $15,000 championship later today.
