Phillips heads up WSOP main event final table

Dennis Phillips will reign as chip leader in the World Series of Poker (WSOP) main event for at least the next three and a half months.
The relatively unheralded player will go into the November 9th final table with 26.296 million chips - just under two million more than his nearest rival Ivan Demidov (24.4 million).
Scott Montgomery trails the two leaders in third with 19.69 million chips, ahead of Peter Eastgate (18.375 million) and Ylon Schwartz (12.525 million).
Darus Suharto is next with a total of 12.52 million, followed by David Rheem (10.23 million), Craig Marquis (10.21 million) and Kelly Kim (2.62 million).
The three big names going to the last penultimate day of the tournament, Phi Nguyen, Tiffany Michelle and Brandon Cantu, all failed to make it.
A VIP ceremony will be held at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino tonight to celebrate the nine players' success and give them information about the November final table, Jeffrey Pollack, WSOP commissioner, reports in his blog.
