Internet player leads field at Bellagio

2008-07-16 14:40:56

A renowned internet poker player holds the chip lead in the World Poker Tour Bellagio Cup IV competition.

Mike Watson, known in online circles as SirWatts, holds a reasonable advantage over the rest of the field, with two-time World Series of Poker champion David Pham his nearest rival.

There are plenty of other top contenders still in the tournament.

Hevad Khan, Ted Forrest, Barry Greenstein, Glen Chorny and John Phan are among the 32 who will return tonight to fight it out for a place at the six-man final table.

Jennifer Tilly, Isaac Haxton, Gavin Smith, Roy Winston and Dave "Devilfish" Ulliott failed to make it through to the penultimate day, but managed to land inside the money.

Lee Watkinson, another top professional who had been competing in the tournament, wrote in an article for Card Player magazine that playing at the Bellagio is not particularly comfortable, because the room is so small and there are too many people crammed around each table.
