One of Brandon Cantu's calls at this year's World Series of Poker (WSOP) main event has been listed in the Worst Plays in Professional Poker.
Cantu's call to an all in by Dean Hamrick after hitting only a low pair on the flop was the judgment that earned him the spot in Sports Central's rankings.
The 27-year-old went up against Hamrick's pocket aces with a strong chip lead but was crippled when he failed to hit another five or the unlikely straight.
A write up of the action by PokerNews stated: "There was mass disbelief and gasps from the crowd as Cantu rolled over his hand."
Sports Central noted that Cantu's call was a serious error because he had neither pot odds nor implied odds.
Cantu finished in the cash positions in the WSOP main event this year, placing 20th overall and taking home $257,334 in prize money.
