Kim hoping for some luck

2008-08-04 17:13:28

Kelly Kim, one of the November Nine, is hoping luck will favor him in his bid to take down the $9.1 million first prize at the World Series of Poker final table.

The 31-year-old, who has already won around $350,000 this year, claims that his style of play is based on a combination of skill and good fortune, reports the Whittier Daily News.

Kim believes he has as much of a chance as any of the other competitors, but even if he crashes out early, he will net a minimum of $900,000.

"I'd be foolish to think my success is all skill," he remarked, "Luck is definitely part of it."

He added that while there will be a massive buzz surrounding the final of the sport's most prestigious competition, he does not think he will be affected because the game remains the same no matter how many spectators are watching.

Kim will face off against professional player Scott Montgomery as well as Missouri's Dennis Phillips, who is the current chip leader.
