Watkinson suggests Kim could stage WSOP fightback

2008-08-20 17:10:27

The final table short-stack at this year's World Series of Poker (WSOP) main event, Kelly Kim, is capable of overcoming his big disadvantage and doing something special when the tournament resumes in November.

At least this is what Lee Watkinson, a WSOP bracelet holder, has suggested.

In an article which appeared on the Card Player website, Watkinson - who has experience of a WSOP main event final table from 2007 - claimed Kim will not be showing up at the Rio All-Suite Casino in the fall simply to pick up the prize money for ninth place.

"If he can get a double up two to get back in the mix, I have no doubts about him having what it would take to make a huge comeback," the poker professional said.

More than $9 million will go to the eventual winner of the tournament, the second biggest first-place prize in the history of the sport.
