Weinraub leads WPT Legends

2008-08-26 15:33:25

Adam Weinraub leads the pack in the World Poker Tour (WPT) Legends of Poker event after two days of action.

The relatively unheralded player has enjoyed a good couple of weeks at the Bicycle Casino in Bell Gardens, California, landing in the money in two preliminary competitions.

Now it seems he is continuing his excellent form in the main event, where his estimated 461,900 chips have given him more than a 130,000-chip advantage over Todd Keikoan in second place.

Erick Lindgren, David Chiu, Barry Greenstein and Mark Seif are just a few of the top professionals still in the tournament, while Phil Ivey, Chris Ferguson and Chau Giang are among the big names to have been eliminated.

Last year's winner Dan Harrington was also knocked out on day two, leaving the door open for a new Legends of Poker champion.

Harrington received more than $1.6 million for his victory in 2007, which is significantly more than the $1.09 million on the line this time around.
