Smith takes lead at the Bike

Paul Smith is the new frontrunner at the Bicycle Casino in California this week as he bids to secure the first World Poker Tour (WPT) title of his career.
The official chip counts from the WPT put the Poway man on 946,000 chips, just over 100,000 more than second-placed Amit Makhija.
Layne Flack, a six-time World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet holder, lies in third place with 807,000 chips in his stack, followed by Lee Markholt (779,000) and Matt Keikoan (744,000).
Flack and Markholt have both won WPT titles before and will be looking to join an exclusive group of professionals who own two trophies from the organisation.
Five-time WSOP event winner Allen Cunningham is another luminary still in the tournament as he hunts for an elusive first WPT victory.
Daniel Negreanu, Erick Lindgren and Erik Seidel were among the big names to go to the rail on day three, which saw the initial 373-man field reduced even further to just 27 competitors.
