Bertrand Grospellier turned up to the Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) event in Macau this week dressed up as The Joker from Batman movie The Dark Knight.
The Frenchman, who is number three on the Hendon Mob's live tournament money list for this year, made it through to day two of the competition after "the make-up and clothes seemed to work their charm", the APPT's official website reports.
Johnny Chan and Vanessa Rousso were among the other big-name players to take part in the competition, although the latter went to the rail before the end of day 1b.
Grospellier is not the first poker star to wear fancy dress in a major event this year.
The Unabomber Phil Laak infamously dressed up as an old man on the opening day of the World Series of Poker main event this summer, with nobody realising who he was until several hours of no-limit Texas hold'em had been played.
