Winston 'appreciates the poker world'

Roy 'The Oracle' Winston has suggested he is happy with his chosen career path as a professional poker player and implied he treats the sport with great reverence.
In an article that appeared on the Card Player website, the Borgata Poker Open winner reflected on his first year as a pro, which got underway in 2007 following his World Poker Tour title victory.
While admitting that it has been a bit of a rollercoaster, with good times and bad, Winston remarked: "I have made some great friends and been on the inside of a very interesting world which I have come to respect and appreciate."
Winston's defense of his Borgata Poker Open crown gets underway next week and with a big field expected, it is possible that the 2008 first-place prize could be even bigger than the $1,575,280 won by the Card Player blogger last year.
The tournament is unlikely to attract all of the world's best players, however, with the World Series of Poker Europe event taking place in London at about the same time.
