The future of poker 'is the EPT'

The European Poker Tour (EPT) will surpass the World Poker Tour (WPT) for size and prestige over the coming years, an expert has suggested.
Inside Poker magazine's editor Alan Bowden claimed that "the EPT is the tour of future", referring to how it is receiving much more attention at the moment than the WPT.
While acknowledging that the WPT presently generates larger fields and bigger prize funds, Mr Bowden explained the EPT is "the poker tour that's growing the fastest - and certainly it's the poker tour that everyone is talking about".
Glen Chorny won $3.19 million for taking down the EPT Grand Final during season four, which is only marginally less than the $3.39 million picked up by David Chiu, who triumphed in the WPT's equivalent Championship event.
The two jackpots remain the biggest of 2008 so far and will probably only be eclipsed by the World Series of Poker main event, which features a winner's prize worth more than $9 million.
