A number of World Series of Poker main event winners have signed up to take part in the SkyCity Festival of Poker event that gets underway in Auckland, New Zealand next month.

Chris Moneymaker, Greg Raymer and Joe Hachem, who won the sport's richest prize in 2003, 2004 and 2005 respectively, are all scheduled to attend, along with Lee Nelson and Grant Levy, who have both scored major victories in the southern hemisphere in recent years.

It is hoped that the SkyCity tournament will be the biggest in the history of the country, with a $1 million prize pool hoped for.

"We want the SkyCity Festival of Poker to become an annual fixture on the world poker circuit and an absolute must for all top poker players," remarked Ejaaz Dean, table games executive manager at the host venue.

Hachem is the second biggest money winner in live tournament poker history, according to the Hendon Mob.
