Rasmussen on top at WPT Borgata Poker Open

2008-09-16 12:03:56

Thayer Rasmussen is the overnight chip leader following day two of the World Poker Tour (WPT) Borgata Poker Open.

The Florida player, who finished in the money in the 2008 World Series of Poker (WSOP) main event, has 904,500 chips, giving him a lead of just under 70,000 over second-placed Ryan Young.

Andrew Knee lies in third, followed by Adam Gerber, San Kim and Michael Binger, who has the opportunity to move into second in Card Player's player of the year competition with a victory in Atlantic City.

Jonathan Little, Ted Forrest, Brandon Cantu, Mark Seif, Robert Mizrachi, Joe Sebok and Nam Le are also still in the competition.

Several big names went to the rail during day two's action.

David Pham, the double WSOP bracelet holder, was sent home when Bobby Shasta cracked his pair of aces with king-jack.

He was joined by Jamie Gold, JC Tran and Ted Lawson on the elimination list.
