Vivek Rajkumar turned his lead heading into the final table of the World Poker Tour Borgata Poker Open into victory last night.
The Seattle resident, whose previous biggest win came in one of the preliminary tournaments at this year's LA Poker Classic, defeated Sang Kim in the heads-up to take the title and $1,424,500 first-place prize.
Rajkumar had a huge chip advantage going into the head-to-head and quickly prevailed when his ace-jack came out on top against Kim's ace-queen.
Kim received $750,000 for finishing second, while Dan Heimiller picked up $387,500 for third.
Jason Strochak ($337,500), Mark Seif ($287, 500) and Andrew Knee ($237,500) took up the remaining final table positions.
The next big poker tournament gets underway later this month, when the World Series of Poker Europe main event takes place at the Casino at the Empire in London's Leicester Square.
A £1,500 ($2,963) preliminary competition kicks off the series later today.
