Ivey on top in WSOP Europe HORSE event

Phil Ivey is the chip leader after day one of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Europe HORSE competition.
The five-time WSOP bracelet holder is looking to make up for a disappointing summer by his standards and get back into the kind of form that saw him take down the World Poker Tour LA Poker Classic back in February.
His Poker News-reported chip stack of approximately 59,200 puts him 5,000 ahead of second-placed Phil Hellmuth, who is chasing a record 12th WSOP title.
Joe Beevers, Isaac Haxton, Gus Hansen, Daniel Negreanu and Harold Lederer are the other big names currently positioned inside the top 15.
Only 110 people entered the £2,500 ($4,783) tournament, meaning £76,999 will go to the eventual winner.
Victory for Ivey would put him right back in contention to win Card Player's player of the year competition, in which he lies 30th after falling out of the top ten over the last few months.
