Farnood takes down WSOP Europe HORSE

2008-09-25 13:13:36

Sherkhan Farnood is the latest card sharp to pick up a gold bracelet from the World Series of Poker Europe event in London.

The player received £76,999 ($143,000) for his victory, which came after he defeated Ivo Donev in the heads-up, Poker News reports.

Howard Lederer was third as he made it nine WSOP final table appearances in a row without managing to secure title number three.

Jeff Duvall finished fourth, followed by Mark Gregorich, Phil Ivey, Jeff Lisandro, Spencer Lawrence, Erik Albinsson, Yuval Brohnstein and Raul Paez.

Ivey's failure may be good news for Daniel Negreanu, who suggested in his Full Contact Poker blog that he was expecting the Tiger Woods of Poker to come out on top.

Negreanu has a side bet with Ivey that if they both play in the same WSOP event and one of them wins, then the other has to pay them $200,000.
