Gold "had a fantastic time" at Borgata

2008-09-26 11:59:11

Jamie Gold has revealed that he enjoyed himself at Atlantic City's Borgata casino earlier this month.

The 2006 World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet holder, who is the biggest money earner in live tournament poker history, wrote in his Bluff magazine blog that he "had a fantastic time", even though he did not manage to perform as well as he would have liked in the World Poker Tour Borgata Poker Open event.

"I truly enjoyed the Water Club and everyone at the Borgata took such great care of me," he remarked.

"Overall, it was great to be back home in New Jersey."

Gold won $12 million for his WSOP victory at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino two years ago, which remains the largest ever payout in live tournament poker.

He has struggled to do anywhere near as well since, however, with his next biggest cash finish coming at last year's WSOP Europe main event, in which he was 35th, earning $54,300.
