Kamberis inches closer to Baron's OPOY record

Alex 'AJKHoosier1' Kamberis is now just 133 points shy of overtaking Isaac 'westmenloAA' Baron's Card Player online player of the year (OPOY) record.
The internet superstar added 360 points to his score on Sunday with victory in a $200 re-buy event, taking his overall total for 2008 to 8,172.
This makes him only the third competitor in history to go past the 8,000-point mark and puts him within striking distance of Baron's winning total from 2007.
Due to none of his closest rivals picking up points over the weekend, Kamberis also now enjoys an advantage of more than 2,250 over second-placed Brian 'SNo0oWMAN' Hawkins.
Luke 'Bdbeatslayer' Vrabel was another card sharp who picked up points on Sunday to move up to ninth position in the table.
He finished in sixth last year and is one of the few top ten competitors from 2007 in with a serious chance of achieving a similar feat in 2008.
