Kamberis sets new OPOY record

Alex 'AJKHoosier1' Kamberis has broken Card Player's online player of the year (OPOY) record with more than two months to go in 2008.
The internet superstar continued his incredible run of form on Tuesday, picking up another 400 points for finishing second in a major tournament.
This took his overall total to 8,572, surpassing Isaac 'westmenloAA' Baron's benchmark from 2007 by 268 points.
Kamberis now appears to be in an almost unassailable position, with an advantage of more than 2,500 points over second-placed Philip 'USCphildo' Collins, who added 92 to his score on Monday to overtake Brian 'SNo0oWMAN' Hawkins.
Since the start of September, Kamberis has earned approximately 3,000 points and taken his winnings for the year up to $1,624,275 - the second highest amount of anyone inside the top 20.
Baron has a long way to go if he is to retain his 2007 OPOY crown, lagging more than 4,000 points behind the leader back in 15th position.
