Esfandiari on top in Festa al Lago main event

Antonio Esfandiari got off to an excellent start on day 1a of the World Poker Tour (WPT) Festa al Lago main event.
The Magician, who is hunting his second WPT title, finished the day with 313,000 chips, giving him a lead of 103,200 over second-placed Nicholas Sliwinski, the official WPT website reports.
Bound actress and World Series of Poker bracelet holder Jennifer Tilly was third on 195,050, with Jeremiah Vinsant (184,575) and Andrew Robl (173,450) rounding out the top five.
More than a dozen other big names progressed to day two of the Bellagio tournament with above average stacks
Among them were Jason Mercier (145,500), Johnny Chan (138,000), Isaac Baron (116,825), Chau Giang (115,025), Allen Cunningham (105,825) and Daniel Negreanu (99,325).
Doyle Brunson (94,200), Isaac Haxton (91,225), John Hennigan (76,825), JC Tran (71,550) and Jonathan Little (70,250) also made it.
The tournament resumes later today (October 21st) and more than $1 million in prize money is expected to eventually be awarded to the winner.
