Big names continue to dominate Festa al Lago day one

The World Poker Tour (WPT) Festa al Lago main event continued yesterday, with several famous card sharps again dominating the day's action.
Brian Rast finished day 1b the chip leader with a stack of 177,000, according to estimates reported on the WPT website.
He was followed by Ryan Young (156,725), Nenad Medic (137,000), Brad Booth (130,000) and JC Alvarado (111,000).
Bertrand Grospellier (110,000), David Chiu (108,000), Gus Hansen (86,000), Luke Staudenmaier (70,000) and Mike Matusow also successfully made it through to day two with an above average number of chips.
Howard Lederer (56,000), Robert Mizrachi (56,000), Hevad Khan (49,000) David Benyamine (48,000) and John Phan (39,000) are just a few of the others who continued to the next stage of the tournament.
A prize of $1,411,015 will be awarded to the winner - just over $320,000 more than the jackpot received by Andreas Walnum for his victory at the last WPT Fest al Lago competition in 2006.
