Winston explains WPT absence

Roy Winston has revealed why he has not been playing in the World Poker Tour (WPT) Festa al Lago main event at the Bellagio this week.
The Oracle is currently in Las Vegas, but wrote in his Card Player blog that he elected not to take part in the $15,000 buy-in competition after failing to qualify through satellite tournaments.
"I am behind on many of the projects I am involved in and can use this time to catch up," he remarked, adding that "it is not necessary to play in every" competition because there are so many at the moment.
Winston claimed that he did want to participate and generally enjoys any tournament that takes place at the Bellagio, but he eventually decided he would be better off not playing.
Last year, Winston won the WPT Borgata Poker Open, a victory which remains his biggest to date.
He has not proven to be as successful in WPT main events since, however, finishing in the money on three occasions from numerous attempts.
