97 players left after Day 1A of WPT finals

Some 97 players were left by the end of Day 1A of the World Poker Tour (WPT) No Limit Hold'Em Championship finals at the Foxwoods Resort Casino, pokerpages.com reported.
While yesterday (November 5th) began with 162 players - a sharp drop from the 575 hopefuls who bought in last year - five levels of play whittled them down to 97 players who will resume play on Day 2.
A second wave of Day 1 players are set to begin play at 12:00 EST for Day 1B of the tournament today. Finalists from today's and yesterday's play will be combined tomorrow for Day 2 of the tournament.
Several events have been held at the Foxwoods Resort Casino as part of this year's World Poker Finals, which have been running since October 20th.
The championship events are set to conclude on Tuesday (November 11th) at 17:00 EST.
The casino is located within driving distance of New York City and Boston.
