Demidov up to third in POY rankings

Ivan Demidov's second-place finish in the World Series of Poker (WSOP) main event has pushed him up to third position in Card Player's player of the year (POY) rankings.
The Russian, who also reached the final table of the WSOP Europe main event in October, has a total of 4,940 points, placing him 186 ahead of long-time frontrunner Erik Seidel and 470 behind Bertrand Grospellier in the runner-up spot.
John 'Razor' Phan still occupies first place on 6,704 points.
Peter Eastgate, who defeated Demidov to win the WSOP title, has moved up to sixth with 4,320 points - 56 less than David Benyamine in fifth.
David Pham (4,022), Michael Martin (3,800), Michael Binger (3,792) and Men Nguyen (3,662) make up the rest of the top ten, although Pham may move up a few places once the points from the World Poker Tour World Poker Finals have been added to the POY totals.
