Eastgate: Records weren't on my mind in WSOP main event

Peter Eastgate has revealed that he was not thinking about breaking any records when competing in the final table of the 2008 World Series of Poker (WSOP) main event this week.
The Dane, who became the youngest competitor to win card playing's biggest prize at the age of 22, told Bluff Magazine that he was simply concentrating on trying to play as well as he could.
"I wasn't thinking about the records or anything like that," he remarked. "I just was thinking about playing my game."
Referring to Phil Hellmuth, who previously held the record as the youngest world champion at 24, he suggested that the Poker Brat was not bitter about losing one of his WSOP accolades.
"I spoke to (Hellmuth) yesterday," said Eastgate. "He wished me luck and gave me a handshake."
When Hellmuth won the main event in 1989 the first-place prize was $755,000, significantly less than the $9.15 million received by Eastgate for his victory.
